On April 12, 2021, the group standard T/CSA 072-2021 "Technical Requirements for UVA LED Modules for Photocatalysis" developed by our company was officially released to the industry, which is the first industry application standard of the national third-generation semiconductor ultraviolet LED in the world.

Based on material innovation and independent research and development, our company has developed a new generation of semiconductor photocatalytic technology with new semiconductor photocatalyst and UVA-LED ultraviolet light source as the core, and the technology has been widely used in industrial waste gas TVOCs treatment, indoor air sterilization and purification, odor treatment, water treatment and other environmental protection fields.

The existing international and national standards for light sources for photocatalysis only regulate mercury UV light sources, but for UVA LED applied in the field of photocatalysis purification, the research and development level of external quantum efficiency of 370nm peak wavelength has reached about 40%, which has reached the requirement of replacing traditional mercury UV light sources in the application of photocatalysis. The development of UVA LED Module Technical Requirements for Photocatalysis can further promote the integration of semiconductor lighting and photocatalysis, and guide the healthy development of applications and industries in emerging markets.

T/CSA 072-2021 follows the standard formulation process of the alliance. After discussion and soliciting opinions at drafting group/working group meetings, T/CSA Standardization Committee was voted by more than 100 formal members in March 2021 and released on April 12, 2021, officially entering the stage of promotion and application.

This document specifies the technical requirements for UVA LED modules for photocatalysis, including terms and definitions, technical requirements and test methods.

This document is suitable for photocatalytic purification applications of UVA LED modules with peak wavelength less than 370 nm as light source.

This document is applicable to air and water purification, including but not limited to home, commercial, industrial, hospital and other application scenarios.
